Menswear: Christmas and New Year Outfit

 Hey Guys!

I wanted to a quick post on something a little different. Menswear. I can't help but love how simple but detailed a lot of the pieces in menswear is. Sometimes I catch myself dwelling in the men's section of a lot of my favorite stores. I find that a lot of the pieces I like aren't very loud, like you usually see in women's wear. It is all about the color and cut and in most cases of course, how everything is put together.

Here is an outfit idea for christmas/new years or any other parties you may be attending. Unfortunately, they are not the best of quality cause I did not have my camera that day. Before we get to the pictures I would like to thank my cousin Zubair, for being the 'model' for this post. You can check him out on twitter: zubs_k and on instagram: zubs_k

Now for the pictures:

Pants: Zara
Blazer: Guess
New Girl anyone?
Tie: Tiptop
Shirt: Tiptop

Hope everyone has a wonderful week and Happy Holidays to all!

NOTD: 795 Devilish

Hey Guys!

What can I say? Its been a long time. The past three weeks have been super hectic with finals and papers, and all of the other school related non-sense. Anyways, I thought I would show you one of my favorite nail colors for this season. Which is dark red or the so called 'oxblood' red color which apparently stands for oxygenated blood.Really, who comes up with these names? Carrying on, This was actually one of my most worn colors from last winter as well and you can tell by the beaten up bottle down below.

The color in particular is 795 Devilish, which was featured in an older post. The color is a dark red/burgundy color that also looks very vampy on the nails. It goes on pretty well after two coats and it doesn't chip that quickly on me and that is without a top coat. I definitely think it is worth checking out if you're looking for this particular color.

Now for the pictures:

My 'wonderful' application of nail polish (one day I will post a picture with perfect nails)

Let me know if you have any other good dark red nail color recommendations. I really want to try a couple colors out from the new Skyfall collection. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment down below.

Hope everyone has a good week up ahead of them and good luck to all of those hustling through finals!

Haul: Drugstore Makeup

I was at Wal Mart a few week ago, (this post is just super late) and of course I ended up in make up section. The Wal-Mart location I was as at happened to be pretty quiet, so I was able to find quiet a few things I had been wanting to try.

The first thing I got is a Wet & Wild Color Icon palette in 335 Silent Treatment. After hearing all the hype surrounding them on YouTube and other blogs, I thought I would give them a try.And they certainly do live up to all the hype. I wore this palette to work recently, and the colors lasted till I got home with no fading which was around 5 hrs. They certainly are worth it especially considering the price point. The only downside is they can be a bit powdery but nothing crazy. A few high of the high end shadows that I have seen have similar powderiness.

(Why are the eyshadows not in the middle of the photo?)
L to R: Eyelid, Crease, Browbone

I also picked up 3 lip sticks while I was there. I saw the Rimmel Kate Moss collection so I picked up two shades 06 & 04. The dark purple one is a little difficult to work with in my opinion , it kind of almost has a greyish undertone and it just isn't flattering on me but it might work for others! The second shade I got is a bright hot pink which  is a beautiful shade, even though its not a dark vampy fall shade I still really like it and I'm sure I will get lots of use from it in the summer. One thing about Rimmel lipsticks I can't stand is the smell. It needs to be changed.

L to R: 477 Black Cherry, Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate 06, Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate 04
L to R: 477 Black Cherry, Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate 06, Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate 04
The third one I got is my favorite of the three and I have been wearing it constantly since I got it. It is Revlon's 477 Black Cherry, which I'm sure many of you have heard of. It is a beautiful black red and looks great applied full on or as a stain, and since it comes in a creme formula its easy to blend out. I usually only wear it as a stain because I do not have the guts to go out with it full on.

Left:276 Big City Dazzle Right:274 Matte Me Crazy

The last 2 things I got is 2 NYC nail polishes, they were have a 2/$3 deal so I thought hey, why not? I've wanted a Matte top coat for a while and for this price point it does the job. The second one is a glittery red polish with blue and pink sparkles. Haven't tried it yet but I plan on using it as just a top coat.

Well that is it for my haul! I definitely recommend that everyone goes and checks out 477 Black Cherry by Revlon and grab some Wet & Wild coloricon eyeshadow palletes!

L'Oreal Infallible 24-Hour Eyeshadow in 021 Sahara Treasure

Hey Everyone!

I thought I would post my thoughts on the L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in 021 Sahara Treasure. This really is a neat product. I would describe it to be a deep gold with hints of taupe that come through. It is definetly more darker and more shimmery then as seen in the above image.  It is basically a pressed pigment and it comes with a stopper so the product stays compacted. The eyeshadow is definetly does not create the same amount of mess or fall out as a regular pigment. It has a buttery feel and blends out beautifuly.
This eyeshadow is definitly one of those that you brush across your lid and go. I usually just put it all over my lid and then blend it into my crease. I have also used it with a darker eyeshadow in the crease and it turned out beautiful. It does have a bit of fall out so I suggest placing a tissue underneath your eye area when applying the shadow. Or just do you eye makeup before going on to do your face makeup.

I definitely think this is a step up for drugstore eyeshadow and if you ever come across these eyeshadows or see them on sale I highly recommend you pick up this shade or any other shade and give it a go. On a side note, I have heard that these are pretty similar to the Georgia Armani Eyes to Kill Intense Eyeshadow but without the extensive price tag!
Now for the images/swatch:

Hope everyone is having a great weekend and Eid Mubarak to any of my Muslim followers! Feel free to leave any questions in the comment section below and I will make sure to get back to you.

Fall/Winter Skin Care Haul

Since fall is here now and winter is around the corner I thought it would be a good idea to go and grab some new skin care, especially since I am close to using up a lot the products in my current skin care routine. Shoppers Drug Mart was having a sale on Avene products so I figured this would be a good time to go and grab a few items.

Since I am not getting any younger I though now would be a good time to start using eye cream. I looked up some reviews on the Avene soothing eye cream and it seems like a lightweight eye cream which was exactly what I am looking for.

The next thing I got is also from the Extremely rich compensating cream. I have quiet a few dry patches on my skin at the moment so I wanted to find a moisturizer  I could use at night. I tried a bit on my hand and it has butter like consistency so its pretty thick. It also comes with a spatula which is good to have for sanitary reasons.

I also decided to get a cleanser I could use during the morning, I was previously using Cetaphil but it does contain parabens so I thought I would try and find something similar without parabens. So I got the Gentle milk cleanser and I'm hoping it will work well with my skin. Now I just need to find a night time cleanser! If you have any suggestions please leave em below!

That last thing I got is a non-Avene product and it is the Etival Urgen-C Hydrating Surge Mask, I wanted to try the Orgins Drink Up mask but then I saw this on sale and thought why not give it a go. Fingers crossed it works!

Well that pretty much sums up everything I purchased. I do plan on doing reviews on most of the products but if there is a particular product you want more information on feel free to leave a comment below!

Hope everyone has a great week up ahead of them, and Happy Thanksgiving once again to all of my Canadian followers.

Fall OOTD: 041012

Hey Guys,

Here is a really casual fall outfit starring one of the jackets from my last fall haul. I wore this when I went out to meet a friend for coffee and to do some relaxed studying.

Typically, I would wear this jacket with black pants but I opted for blue jeans which helped make the outfit a little more casual. I really like this jacket and I think its perfect for fall and it works well in keeping me warm (so far). Anyways, I think I'm just rambling non-sense so lets just get to the pictures:

Jacket: Zara TRF (current season - see haul)
Shoes: The brand is Nature Breeze
Jeans: Zara (old)
Plain White T: Blue Notes
Scarf:H&M (current season)
Rings: Asos
Bag: Ebay
Nails: Sally Hansen Insta Dri in Cinn-Snap

Alright folk that is all for this post. Hope everyone is having a great week and a Happy Thanksgiving to all of my Canadian Followers!

Tiny Beauty Haul: Chanel and Clarins

Hey Guys!
I recently picked up a few products so  thought I would share what I got:

Ever since I saw the photo for the Chanel fall campaign I knew I had to go see it in person. I was initially drawn to the lip color the model was wearing in the photo. But when I went to my Chanel counter and saw the lipstick, it wasn't exactly what I was looking for, I definitely wanted something darker. I ended up going on Temptalia and I found a dupe that was similar to what the model was wearing and that is 114 Blackberry by Clarins, the perfect rosy brown for fall.  I am pretty much in love with this color, it can be applied sheerly or you can build it up. It is also a really moisturizing formula and I would say it last about the same time as a regular lipstick.  I also purchased the much hyped about Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 01 and it all I can say is everyone needs one of these in their life. It is a lip gloss-lip balm that is super moisturizing and you can apply it through out the day with out having to think about. It looks amazing on your lips as well and smells like roasted marshmallows. I definitely think it does live up to all the hype surrounding it.

Now about the blush...even though I didn't end up getting the lipstick from Chanel, I did however end up picking up the blush in Rose Initiale. In the pan it looks like a regular pink blush and that is exactly what I though it was until I swatched it. When swatched it is a beautiful pink that I think will look beautiful during fall. It was really hard for me to get a picture of this but I tried. I haven't used it yet but I can give you guys an update if you're wondering about how it wears. It is part of the fall campaign but I think it might be permanent.

And now for the photos:

26.00 CAD found at The Bay or Sears
19.00 CAD found at The Bay or Sears

48.00 CAD found at The Bay or Holt Renfrew

Not the best swatch, click here to see Temptalia's post
Anyways, that is all for now! Hope everyone has a good week up ahead.

NOTD: Revlon 330 Naughty

Hey everyone!

Looks like I'm back with another nail polish post this week!
Say whaaa?
Yes, I'm pretty surprised myself! The color I am exhibiting is once again a Revlon nail polish and it is 330 Naughty. I think the best way to describe this nail polish is a dirty murky purple. In the bottle it looks like a brown with purple shimmer but once applied to the nails it just looks like a greyish brown muted purple.

I think its a great transition color from summer to fall because its not as dark as a black nail polish, dark red or the plum night from my last nail polish post.

Though I don't own Chanel's Paradoxal I think this could possible be a cheaper alternative. From the pictures I've seen I think its a pretty close dupe for those of us who don't have piles of cash. Besides, who doesn't like those murky dirty looking polishes for fall!

Pictures:

Anyways, let me know what you guy think the comments below!
Hope everyone has a good week!

Fall Haul: Zara, H&M, ONLY and Vera Moda

Hello lovelies!

I have done a bit of shopping for fall. Not all of this was purchased at the same time but over the course a couple months. I hope you can take some inspiration from the items I purchased and hopefully I'll be able to do some outfit of the days with these items in the near future.

I really am trying to starting to blog regularly!

This will be a picture heavy post:

I went into Zara and I saw this jacket, and it was love at first sight. Then I saw the price tag and everything changed. I just could not justify buying it for $120 CAD and fortunately I was with my sister who was there to stop me.

But I couldn't stop thinking about it, and I've always told myself about clothing I am unsure about buying that if I keep thinking about it I should just go back and get. So I used my Eid money and went for. The jacket is from Zara Woman and you can check it out or buy it depending on where you live by clicking here.

Zara Woman $119.00 CAD

Zara TRF 89.99 CAD
After seeing the Biebs with a similar jacket except his with jean and leather, I knew I need to have one. I did a similar thing with this jacket as the above one, I initially wanted the longer version but sadly it got sold in the spring! So I decided I wasn't going to miss the chance of grabbing it this time!

I got it from the TRF section at Zara in July so I'm not sure of the availability of it in stores, but you can check it out by clicking here.

ONLY 55.00 CAD
I wasn't sure if I wanted to include a hoodie in this post. But I figured its getting really cold so why not? I love the hi-low cut of the hoodie, it helps differentiate it from the usual hoodies we see. The pockets are also pretty big so you can fit a lot in them. I got this from a local store that had a 20% off sale because they were moving locations. You can check out the hoodie or purchase it if you live in Europe by clicking here.

Vera Moda Joshua Blazer from The Bay 75.00 CAD (got 15%off)
Backside

I've been looking for this cut in a blazer for a while. I was at the bay and they had a sale going on I tried it on and it fit like a glove. Needless to say I was sold. I love the stitching in the back and the way its cut. I don't mind spending a little bit of money on blazers cause they will last you forever.
You can check it out by clicking here or just type in Joshua Blazer by Vera Moda into google to find it on a website from your country.
H&M 29.95 CAD
Last but not least we have this sweater I picked up from H&M. I don't have the color above and I thought it would look great with some leather pants. Once again, I love the Hi-Low cut of it and sweaters are a staple for me in winter and fall. There is nothing like putting on a cozy sweater on a cold morning especially when going to school. I got this earlier last week so hopefully you can find it at your local h&m store, I tried looking on the web site but it doesn't seem to be up on there.

Anyways, this was a super long post. Hopefully I didn't bore you all too much and you found some of the pieces a little interesting.

Hope your all well and have a wonderful week especially if you are back to school!
